Style & Culture: Grammy Red Carpet Style

What was your favorite dress at the Grammy Awards? One of my favorites was the emerald green couture dress worn by Solange Knowles. This is the color of the moment and she certainly made a statement accenting it with her bright pink shoes. Personally I loved the Georges Chakra gown worn by Kelly Rowland. The way the geometric lines of sheer panels accented her body giving it curves in the right places was beautiful. It was, however, borderline defying the rules that CBS had set just days before. There was a decency code that was sent out ordering the attendees to keep themselves covered up so as not to expose too much flesh. (CLICK HERE TO READ)

An excerpt from the note sent out to the celebrities stated, "Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic....Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."

It's not surprising that the network would be feeling the need to say something considering that it seems every year the dresses are baring more and more. Who could forget the infamous deep-v green Versace dress Jennifer Lopez wore that made headlines in 2000 when she attended with then boyfriend Sean 'Puffy' Combs (Now known as Diddy).
