Welcome to my blog, Style & Culture. My whole life I have always enjoyed fashion. I had my first magazine subscription when I was only 10 years old. I enjoy the trends, designers, creativity and culture. Come to think of it, the fashion industry is a culture in and of itself. Through this site, I want to share all the latest fashions, trends, up and coming designers and well established designers.
Fashion is all about fun and getting excited about something new and sometimes adding a fresh new item to your closet. It's about taking inspiration from the world around us to be the individual that you are.
I am always looking at what trends are happening and have been known to find key items each season without spending a fortune. I will share some sales and deals here when I do find them.
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design and have worked as a model, fashion writer and assistant buyer for footwear and casual women's wear. Through it all, I have always enjoyed everything fashion has to offer.
Style is something that is very personal. It's an expression of who you are or who you want to be. It's never to be taken like breaking news or something that can change lives. It's really all about fun. Culture is often defined as the way we live, our values, beliefs, speech and who we are. In 1963 sociologist, Robert Bierstedt described culture as having three dimensions: ideas, norms and material. Fashion can fall into material culture; what we wear because of our ideas and norms.
